The Grace Valley College library was established in 2004 at the very inception of the college , is to provide a dynamic learning environment that supports the academic pursuits of students, teachers, and nonteaching staff. College library envisions to becoming a hub of knowledge, promoting lifelong learning. It act as a centre for the collection of resources predominantly related to all subjects offered by the college. It offers access to a diverse collection of books, periodicals and other media that meet the educational and information needs of its users. In 2021, the Library hall is renovated and provides a conductive environment for learning with designated reading areas catering to the needs of users. The library area which is easily accessible for library users is segregated in various sections like Circulation desk, Reading section, Stack section, periodical section and digital library section. It is a partially automated open access library, and KOHA, the web centric library management software is used for computerising all house keeping operations. The entire book collection has been barcoded and well stacked using Dewey Decimal Classification system (DDC).Additionally our library club enhances the sense of community and engagement among library users.

RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE LIBRARY
1 The library shall be opened on all days except Sundays & Holidays from 9 AM to01:15 PM and 02 PM to 04 PM.
- Loan counters will start functioning after 15 minutes from the opening of the library and the same will be closed before 30 minutes of closing the library.
3 Admission to the library is restricted except for the staffs and students of the Grace Valley College of Arts and Science. Visitors are allowed only with the permission from the Principal, Grace Valley College of Arts and Science.
4 Silence must be strictly observed in the library. Usage of Mobile phone, Ipod etc. are not permitted inside the library.
5 Users must leave their personal belongings except writing paper at the property counter before entering into the library. Readers are not allowed to bring any books and other printed materials inside the library.
6 Library is a place for individual study and research the members, therefore are expected to conduct it inside the library in such a manner as is conducive to this purpose.
7 Books should be handled with care any damage or making upon any book or journal will not be entertained.
8 Journals, both bound volumes and loose issues, manuscripts, patents, theses, reference books, damaged or worn-out books will not be issued on loan.
9 Students can borrow (three books for UG and five for PG) at a time for a period of 14 days and faculties can borrow 7 books at a time for a period of 30 days.
10 Readers can return their books only after 24 hours from the date of issue. If a book is not returned to the library when due, an overdue charge of Re. 1/- (One Rupee) per day shall be levied. A member against whom, any overdue outstanding shall not be allowed to borrow any books until he/she has paid the amount.
11 Loan may be renewed for a further period of 14 days if the same books are not required by others; but not more than this period will be permitted for the production of the book at the issuing counter.
A member can reserve at a time as many numbers of books as he/she is eligible to borrow, provided they are issued out.
12 Before leaving the library the member must ensure whether the books given to him/her are in good condition and if not, the matter should be brought to the notice of the librarian. Otherwise, he/she shall be held responsible for any damage discovered afterwards. No books will be issued to such members till the loss has been made.
13 In case if a book is damaged/lost, the borrower is required to replace the book by a latest or same edition OR he/she will be required to pay 4 times the published price of book plus 20% of the published price as procurement charges and also overdue charges if any.
14 NON-LIABILITY CLAIM: If a member has lost his/her borrower's ticket or identity card issued from the library, he/she has to report this matter immediately to the librarian. If the member has applied for withdrawal of membership, a non-liability certificate, such applications will be kept pending till the expiry of one month for detailed verification of the library records. If, no book is found issued against the borrower's ticket, a non-refundable penalty of Rs.20/-(Rupees twenty only) for each lost borrower's ticket will be collected from the member and he/she has to execute an indemnity bond.
15 The librarian may refuse under special circumstances, admission to the library to any person or the use of any book without assigning the reason thereof.
Any cases of failure of services from the part of the library staff should be reported to the Principal, Grace Valley College of Arts and Science.
16 Any infringement of the rules will render the privilege of admission to and of borrowing from the library liable to forfeiture.
- Student's must be return back their library ticket in the time of course out.

Library membership
The membership of the library is open for the teaching staff, students and non-teaching staff of the college. A non-member is not admitted to the library except with permission from the principal. Books are issued to the users on the production of library borrower card. The members are supposed to be conversant with and agreeable to the Library rules.
Validity and loss of library cards
Library borrower cards are valid for the entire duration of the course to access library facilities. At the end of the course, borrower cards shall be returned to the library. Loss of borrower card should be reported to the librarian. Duplicate card may be issued against formal application and fine.
Damage/Loss of library materials
- User must ensure that the books they borrow are in good condition to avoid being held responsible for any damages noted while returning the books.
- Users will held responsible for any damage or loss of library materials in their possession and will be required to meet the cost of replacement.
- Lost of books must be reported to the librarian immediately and replaced or paid for within thirty days
- Lost library books that are recovered, must be handed to the librarian as they remain the property of the college library.
No due certificate
Each student shall obtain no due certificate from the library after returning all the books issued, surrendering the borrower’s cards and after paying outstanding dues, if any.
